Veterans, we thank you for your service
November 11, 2011
Every year on November 11, citizens of the United States pay special honor to military veterans. Banks, schools and post offices close so that we may take pause and salute those who serve. There will be parades in small towns and large cities. Homes and offices across United States will display the American flag. Everyone from school kids to the heads of military organizations have prepared presentations to educate, inform, and to make sure veterans know that they are appreciated and honored. Keep an eye on Twitter as we feature presentations throughout the day. Here are a few of the presentations shared by the SlideShare community:
VAFis a non-profit organization with the sole intent to provide outstanding support to the people in need. Describing themselves as, "Simply veterans living by the creed of 'Never leaving a Fallen Comrade,' our organization is based on faith, trust, and the desire to help our veterans."
The Mission San Luis Rey Parish in California recognizes those members of the parish community who have served in our Armed Forces. Jeff Klare, CEO of Hire Disability Solutions organized a Global Veterans' Career Expo this past week. Hire Disability Solutions is a USBLN Certified Disabled Owned Enterprise founded in response to the increasing demand for services for individuals with disabilities. Many business and restaurants across the country are offering discounts and even free meals to veterans. The Navy Fleet and Family Support Centers have put together a list of these great deals.
