Everyone has a crystal ball for 2011

With so many prediction slideshows published on SlideShare in the past week, we’re beginning to feel like the crystal ball for 2011! We’ve selected a few slideshows to share with you. Each of the following presentations goes a step further than providing only a list. They explain what the predictions are based on and how they will affect businesses. A few of the presentations offer recommendations for what companies can do to stay in step with the leading trends. We’ll continue to put these trend-watchers on our home page, so check back throughout the month.

More than just a list, Mindshare‘s “10 x 10 Trends for 2010 and 2011,” includes articles with some deep dives into predictive analysis.

In its “Eleven Digital Trends to Watch in 2011,” Edelman Digital pairs recommendations and best practices with each prediction. This addition of practical advice with each trend has resulted in over 5800 views 51 favorites and 24 embeds in less than 24 hours since it was published.

JWT Intelligence‘s presentation has already received over 192,000 views, 555 favorites and has been embedded more than 525 times. Their predictions go beyond technology to include culture and behavior trends in “100 Things to Watch in 2011.”

Rohit Bhargava‘s “15 Marketing & Social Media Trends to watch in 2011” got a tremendous response when we posted it on Facebook. In just 3 days this presentation received over 19,000 views, 138 favorites and 71 embeds.

Cheta Sharma Consulting‘s survey results provided data for their “Mobile Industry Predictions.”

DreamGrow Digital gives us “17 Social Media Marketing Trends for 2011.”

Paratus Communications takes a look back with “Rewind 2010: Social and Digital Media Review.” Digital design firm Fjord gives us their “Fjord Digital Trends 2011,” including recommendations on how to survive innovation overload. Soap Creative tells us how many of their 2010 predictions were correct and what we can expect for the coming year in “2011 Soap Creative Digital Predictions.”

The exercise of creating a list of predictions and turning it into a slideshow is a great way to demonstrate to clients that your firm is aware of trends, stays current, and can advise on where the future will lead us.
