The day he died brought the whole world to a stand still which signifies the power and the effect that
this man had on the world. I will be discussing a few media institutes reflecting their findings and
presenting it to the public. The first media source I researched was CNN World, the headline reads "
Nelson Mandela, anti–apartheid icon and father of South Africa, dies." This headline has summed
him up reflecting the person he was and the power he held in the worlds eyes. CNN highlight the
facts that he was a freedom fighter, prisoner and a moral compass to his own people and the world.
After spending 27 years in prison he forgave the white government that imprisoned him and
negotiated peace, leaving behind his bitterness and hatred, this approach inspired the world that
apartheid was a thing of the past. CNN analyses Mandela's life to be positive in all areas beneficial
to the country and the world. It touched on Nelson being considered as a hero to all races, a father
figure and a global ambassador. His influence stopped a civil war in 1994 which could have been the
bloodiest war on racial grounds. CNN highlighted that the nation was on edge as his last appearance
in public was at the 2010 World Cup in SA and from then became frequently hospitalised,

This report will talk about the use of 3D modelling and motion graphics to create idents for
multimedia organisations. The requirements, objectives and targeted audience of the idents will be
discussed and all declarations are justified with supporting evidence.

The requirements are basically the advertising of the brand for example E4, BBC 3 and BBC 4.

The colour of the logo creates brand loyalty & makes it recognisable. This is because the colour of it
is shown throughout the ident and promotes the channel and its theme and the logo is shown various
times throughout in different variations, but even when the logo is made of popcorn in conjunction
with the summer theme, there is still the presence of the colour purple in the background, meaning
the ident it doesn't lose identity and viewers can still recognise the channel.
Although the content of the ident may seem randomly placed they are not. Each of the subjects

The ultimate purpose of the news media is to be a promoter of the voice of the voiceless (the
common people) on both a local and global scale–ultimately, a public servant. Today, the media
molds, shapes and creates an opinion in our minds before we get an opportunity to think for
ourselves. Whether we watch the news on the television or listen to the radio or follow CNN or
BBC World News on some social media platform like Facebook or Twitter–we receive controlled
content altered to favor a certain group of people, companies, industries–or in this case, countries.

The First English Poor Law Legislation
16th century – The first English Poor Law legislation.
According to Spicker (2014) the English Poor Laws were a system of poor relief which existed until
the emergence of the modern welfare state after the Second World War. These laws purpose was
provision for 'setting the poor on work '. The parish was the basic unit of administration. People
were tied to particular locations. If they tried to get relief outside the parish of their birth they could
be 'removed' which means not given relief or transported to another parish. The Poor Laws relief did
not generally include accommodation but in 17th century first few workhouses were established. In
Scotland they were called 'houses of correction'.
Workhouse is 'a building where very poor people in Britain used to work, in the past, in exchange
for food and shelter' (Cambridge Dictionaries Online, 2015, available online at

19th century – The increase of poor and working class population due to mass industrialisation and

Introduction:
I have analyzed three online news publications from different parts of the world. Those are Fox
News from the U.S., BBC from England and Mail & Guardian from South Africa. In this research
paper I will present quantitative research that indicates the statistically significance between them.
The paper will present A) words per sentence, B) the percentage of passive sentences and C)
Flesch–Kincaid grade level of the articles and publications, and finally a D) conclusion of the
research question. The research question is: BBC and Mail & Guardian seem to base their
readership on a more sophisticated and serious audience than Fox News. Does that make them
statistically different than Fox News, or are they similar?

I chose to leave out headlines. Then, I used the spelling and grammar check in Word to get the
numbers to compare. I chose to note the numbers for words per sentence, passive sentences and
Flesch–Kincaid grade level. I think these three elements give a good picture of the quality of the
articles. Then, I put all the numbers into SPSS and run a One–way Anova analysis with a Post Hoc
and Scheffe test.
Results:
F equals 18.486 and the probability of that is less than 0.05.
A) The Oneway Anova test shows that the three newspapers are statistically different in words per
sentence, getting a statistically significance of .000. Of the Post Hoc test one can see that the
difference is due to BBC. BBC and Fox News, as well as Mail & Guardian statistically significant.
There is no statistically significance between Fox News and Mail & Guardian – Fox news equals
Mail & Guardian.
B) The percentage of passive sentences is not statistically significant, which means that the share of
passive sentences are all about the same for the three publications.
C) The grade level is as statistically significant as words per sentences showing .000 in the anova
