Infographics Are More Viral

The data’s in: Infographics have more virality than presentations and documents!

When we launched our new infographics player in July, it was because we had little  doubt the web was becoming more and more  visual — and  infographics were seemingly becoming the future of data-sharing. Being the data-driven organization that we are, we were interested in testing the popularity of this new content type. We analyzed more than 1,000 infographics uploaded to SlideShare since launch, and the results are pretty compelling:

-Infographics are liked 4x more than presentations, and 23x more than documents on SlideShare

-Infographics are shared 2x more than presentations, and 3x more than documents on other social networks, such as LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.

Top global brands have taken note: Companies like Mashable, The Huffington Post, LinkedIn, Leo Burnett, Salesforce and Marketo have all recently uploaded infographics on SlideShare. Check them out!

We’re also happy to announce that we’ve also optimized the viewing experience of embedded infographics. Your entire infographic will embed on other sites so that viewers don’t have to scroll anymore.

Lastly, here are the top 5 most-viewed infographics uploaded since we launched our new player. Happy infographic-ing!

    Arpit,
Thanks for the great story and for sharing the metrics that back the power of visual storytelling and the use of infographics. The numbers don’t lie!
And congrats on the success of your infographics player launch!

They probably get shared more than anything else because of all the TIME and EFFORT that was put in to them, unlike a pdf document converted from a word doc, someones slides they slapped together last minute and uploaded.

They are ALL VISUALLY APPEALING, FUN, BRANDED well, share INTERESTING information, and DIGESTIBLE. : )

Moreover, it can be used in a SEO strategy. If more people read it, more people will share the infographics.

I thought this was known generations ago!!!

Didn’t we learn from parents, grandparents, schools, …, etc. that
“A picture is worth a thousand words”?

Now this reminds me of “The more things change, the more they stay the same”!

I might be very ignorant, where can i get the relevant software for Infographics

  • Sam Googlian

Infographics is simply any information presented in a graphical form.
Remember the good old saying “A picture is worth a thousand words”?
