You might have already caught these on TechCrunch (in separate back to back articles). We’re sharing both these decks together for those who missed it.

The first of these decks is titled VC Non Admissions. The deck was adapted from a thread on ExpertCEO contributed by a range of CEOs and VCs about the top twelve things you’d never hear a VC say.

The reply came fast. And it was titled Founders Non Admission.

All for friendly, tongue-in-cheek banter.

The Wild Apricot blog has a compilation of 26 of the best SlideShare presentations on “Social Media for Non Profits”. Check out the post here.

This made world news yesterday. See the original bankruptcy petition filed by General Motors below. Use the full screen option to peruse through.

We just thought of highlighting the State of the World’s Human rights 2009 report that has been shared on SlideShare by Amnesty International. Its a 424 page report (shared as a document). Use the full screen option to peruse through.

We’re happy to announce that our relaunched Facebook app has been verified by those awesome folks at Facebook. Facebook rolled out this program yesterday and only a select few from the thousands of Facebook applications have made it to the verified list. We had to work in close co-ordination with the Facebook team to ensure that we satisfy the strict standards for this program. Our app is part of the Business & Finance section of Facebook’s application directory.

If add the SlideShare app to your Facebook profile, go here.

Online PR news, a website for Press Releases now allows embedding of Press Releases. Learn more here. Press releases can often be boring and staid, this can be a great way to liven up your press releases. Give it a shot next time, attach a lively and eye-catching presentation to your press release, and the news might get picked up a lot more.

We do that at SlideShare. Everytime we have an announcement, we create a presentation about the announcement. We find that this format gets a lot more attention than a press release.

Did you want to make it to Web 2.0 expo but could not, because of budget constraints? Or are you in another corner of the world and San Francisco was a bit too far? Or were you at the Expo, but missed some of the sessions? Or did you love a session so much, you want to see the slides again?

Whatever the reason, you can check out slides for many of the sessions with the Presentation Pack below. Grab and put it on your blog, pass it on. You can take the Portrait version or the Landscape, whichever works for your blog format. (Go here to create your own Presentation Pack).

We would like to thank O’Reilly and speakers from the conference for generously sharing the slides from Web 2.0 Expo. I know I learnt a lot.

Happy April Fools day

Apr 1, 06:12 am PST

We celebrated April Fools Day with a little prank:   views on your presentations have an extra two zeros on them. We hope you find this funny. Your views will be rolled back to normal in a few hours.

You can see tweets about this prank on twitter … we asked people to mark their tweets with #bestofslideshare in an email we sent out.

We sincerely apologize if we annoyed you … we notice from the reactions on twitter that some people are not amused.

Update: We’ve always loved our users and will continue to do so in future, the joke notwithstanding. If our prank upset you, we’re sorry.

Update Again: Actual view counts have now been restored. Its all over and back to normal!
