Weekend Reading: How to Harness Your Creative Power

Creativity will be the most important trait in business leaders, says a 2010 study by IBM. Few would argue — innovation and creativeness are what increasingly drive successful companies and careers. So how do you get more creative? Here are 3 SlideShares that will help you harness creativity.

People divide themselves into “creatives” and “non-creatives” today, says Akram Saad, Nexus Training Solutions founder (and self-proclaimed creativity and innovation addict). Yet everyone can get back their creative edge, he says. It all starts with merging expertise, creative thinking skills and motivation.

Companies need to be creative to stay ahead, says Jeff Stevens, web content optimizer at Academic Health Center. Stevens reveals the psychological factors that stop us from fulfilling our potential, and gives tips for how to build a team culture that embraces creativity.

For big companies to innovate, sometimes you have to get out of your comfort zone. This deck by Board of Innovation discusses six “peculiar” industries — including dating and criminals — that provide 30 controversial innovation tricks for your company.

ODE TO THE POWER OF NOW — Google Now®!
Much like many “tech era neo/info-creative professionals,” I am ready, eager & able with lil’effort — save a click, here & some read/sharing, there! — to stay abreast of and benefit from breaking trends in topic areas & specialties that best align with my interests & passions, while gaining access to opinions, sentiments & expertise (from across the World Wide Web) of prominent leaders in contemporary innovative thought…

And, all thanks to the automated info-population features central to a newly enhanced Google Now®! For example: Google Now® often links to websites I tend to follow for their compelling subject matter, incl. the SlideShare® Blog(s) (cf. http://blog.slideshare.net/2014/06/13/weekend-reading-how-to-harness-your-creative-power/ — herein, above; accessed: Friday, 13 JUN 2014; etc.)…!!

Curious to know more of what others feel/think of “The Power of Now!” Please, be encouraged to share any compelling thoughts you may have, with regards to the useful value in design and development of the Google Now® platform, as a prospective turnkey solution for New Media “automated info-aggregation, creation, broadcast & sharing” — particularly, as relating to Google Now® for Android®/Mobile Use… Any/All Respondent Feedback would be greatly appreciated — Thanx!

    Respectfully submitted:

Great post! So many people try and divide their skills these days instead of trying to expand their abilities and learn a new skill. I run a small business and I ensure that everyone has a goal to learn a new skill or improve their ability to do something every year. At the end of the year I ensure that everyone who has progressed get awesome corporate gifts as a reward.
