We’ve just rolled out a feature that many of our users would love. If you use SlideShare to present live in front of an audience (or even while watching presentations in full screen mode) this is for you. You (as the presentation uploader) can decide what background color should show behind the slides. Till now this was only white… now you can optionally make this black (this gives you a contrast between the slide template color and the full screen background, and allows you to adjust for differences in lighting conditions, ambience etc). This color change takes effect ONLY in full screen mode.. so whenever anyone goes full-screen to watch the deck, the background color your select will show up.
Here’s how you can get this to work for your slide deck.
Step 1: Login and go to the “edit” for the presentation that you want to change.
Step 2: Choose the player background color (default is white, other option is black) and save the settings.
Step 3: You’re done… anyone who watches in full screen will see the background color you selected.
And here’s the icing on the cake- this idea came from one of our users, Ilya Petrov, who works as the Creative Director for a Moscow based agency called Redkeds. What came to us as a email tip from Ilya a couple of weeks back, has now been rolled out as a standard SlideShare feature. Thanks Ilya .. you just helped SlideShare improve… and keep your tips coming!
To the SlideShare community : please use this feature, and tell us how we can improve this further…
