This is a continuation of the SlideShare Zeitgeist 2009…

Language wise : How many slides per presentation?: Ever wondered whether presentations across the world have any differences in terms of basic character? We looked into our data and here’s something we noticed- Presentations in Asian languages (like Japanese Korean, Chinese) seem to be longer than all other ones. Presentations in German & Dutch seem to be longer than English or Spanish. Can you guess why this is so?

Spanish - 21 slides
Portuguese - 21 slides
English - 21 slides
French - 22 slides

German - 25 slides
Dutch - 26 slides

Japanese - 25 slides
Chinese - 28 slides
Korean - 35 slides

Most Popular Events on SlideShare: The top three 2008 events (based on cumulative pageviews of event slideshows) are

- South by SouthWest (06 Mar - 11 Mar 08 Austin Texas, USA)
- Web 2.0 Expo 22 Apr (25 Apr 08 San Francisco, CA USA)
- Information Architecture Summit (10 Apr - 14 Apr 08 Miami, Florida, USA)

This is not unexpected… technology conferences have always been very popular on SlideShare

    What, no commentary?

SlideShare has rolled the boat out to produce a great online tool to synchronise audio and slides, and yet this is so under-utilised! C’mon, guys, PPT without narration is the worst sort of slide show ever.

2009 - year of the Narrated Slide Show.

(not to mention, link to categories for each language)

    linky, linky, linky ;)
