SlideShare is down right now
Mar 13, 04:38 pm PST
Our hosting provider (ServePath) has been having intermittently problems for past few days and right now site is totally down. Sorry about this. Our hosting provider is generally been very reliable, and we are hoping they will be able to solve the problem very soon.
Update 4 PM PST: We are in touch with ServePath, but they don’t have any information on when site will be back up. Their blog says they are working on it, but it does not say when it might be back up.
Update 11 PM PST: Slideshare is back up now… all systems working, under control… the servers are firing on all cylinders.. it’s been a tough time… hopefully this will help us prepare for avoiding anything like this in future.

Michael,
Thanks for checking in. When will it be back up?

We have a team of engineers and consultants working on it actively as I write this. We are making progress but obviously I don’t want to over promise anything nor give you incorrect information.
I will make sure that someone contacts SlideShare directly.

I just checked http://www.slideshare.net and it seems to be back. I am checking with our network engineers on the official status. As of right now, it, unofficially, is looking like things have been resolved.

Yes, I noticed that SlideShare.net seems to be back up. Thanks - we look forward to the official explanation and how Servepath will prevent such long downtimes in the future.
Thanks for keeping us in the loop!

Jon,
I believe you should have received numerous phone and email communications from us regarding the issue. A full RFO (Reason for Outage) will be provided shortly.
Again, we are extremely sorry for the trouble caused to you and the SlideShare customers.
