    Well this isn’t humour, but its is Slideshow “Culture” ..

    In this month’s CACM, Robert Gaskin, the inventor of Powerpoint, has a nice article on the early origins of Powerpoint, and a touching lament for the simplicity of overhead transparencies - “Let simplicity inspire, and resist the lure of unreadable fonts, stock clip art, sound effects, and flying bullet points.”

    Interesting factet - the original Powerpoint 1.0 (1987) was Mac-only and produced as output black-and-white overhead transparencies (together with speaker’s notes and audience handouts). Oh those were the days - cue memories, of my uni professors spitting on their hankies to wipe off their annotations on the overheads …
