The second prize in the contest was bagged by the freakingly brilliant ‘Meet Henry‘. This also got the third prize for the People’s Choice Awards. ‘Meet Henry’ has already inspired a new genre of presentations- check out this, this & this.
I am sure there are many more to come.
Let meet its creators; the questions have been answered by Cherre (on the right in the snap) on behalf of her team..
1) Tell us a little about yourself? About your background, where you are based, what you do for a living?

Ethos3 Communications is a presentation design and training company located in the Nashville, TN area. The idea for Ethos3 Communications was developed out of our founder’s, Scott Schwertly (on the left in the snap) desire to change the way presentations are done today. Ethos3 wants to make a difference. We want to create a “presentation revolution.â€
2) Do you design a lot of presentations?
As the VP of Creative Services for Ethos3 Communications, I design presentations on a rather frequent basis. The “Meet Henry†presentation was actually conceptualized by Ethos3’s founder - Scott Schwertly. Together, we breathed life into the two characters of Henry and Erica.
3) When and how did you create this presentation?
Scott conceptualized the idea and created the backbone of the presentation on Keynote. All the photos were found on Google or purchased via iStockphoto. We essentially passed the presentation back and forth via e-mail until it was complete. All of this was done in about two days.
4) Who are your inspirations when it comes to designing presentations?
We hate to sound cliché, but Ethos3 Communications has always been inspired by Garr Reynolds. He has been our greatest source of inspiration. Other sources of inspiration include Seth Godin, Masayoshi Takahashi, Dale Carnegie, and Steve Jobs.
5) What advice do you have for SlideShare users who want to design great presentations?
They need to remember the Chinese proverb that “A picture is worth a thousand words.†In addition, there is beauty in simplicity. Less is always more.
6) How long have you been using SlideShare? How did you discover it? Do you have any interesting stories about your SlideShare experiences?
Ethos3 was first introduced to SlideShare because of the “The World’s Best Presentation Contest.†I was reading Garr Reynold’s’ blog, Presentation Zen and he had an announcement about the contest. Since we are a presentation design and coaching company, I suggested to Scott that we enter. I opened a SlideShare account and we entered the contest. We have had a lot of positive feedback about Meet Henry.
