Conferences starting to use slideshare

We’re starting to see conferences using slideshare as a way of getting all the slides from a conference onto an online archive. A conference organizer can get an account on slideshare and upload all the slideshows (this is what the NRCP 06 conference, a conference for paralegals, has done). Alternately, the conference organizer can just tell speakers to upload their slideshows to slideshare, and to use a meaningful tag to describe the conference. For example, the webdirections 2006 conference in Sydney is tagging their slideshows “wd06″.
In either case, once the slideshows are on slideshare, they can be embedded back into the conference website using a simple “embed code”.

Yes, we certainly have done this for the Web Directions materials as they come in. Can I just say you guys have got a seriously cool tool happening here: very very impressed by the ease of use and simplicity of the whole app. You’ve enabled us to take the usefulness of post-conference materials to a whole new level. Congratulations!

I am in a class of mid career civil service officers doing their Masters in Public Policy. We have to present our individual researches starting next week.Quite a few of us will be using slideshare to prepare and present online. The alternatives are to use thumb drives–notoriously fickle when it comes to THE BIG DAY;or straight download from your mail account or wherever you upload it–which again invariably has a problem of compatability with the presentation apparatus of the day.So download from this site specially since these are very strictly timed presentations makes sense.
Maybe Slideshare should consider accepting the pptx(the beta version of MS2007) upload–because the presentation features there are really nice–right now I have to convert my pptx to ppt in order to upload to Slideshare.
Will keep you posted on how the experience is with the presentations.

A great big thanks for the National Resource Center for Paraprofessionals for the great service that you provide. This year we are adding the conference presentations as an afterthought, next year we hope to integrate more into the conference. Keep up the great work!
